About our project
During the course of our 20 month project we intend to make a contribution in order to improve the everyday lives of blind and visually impaired people. Our main focus is set on the safety of this minority group in public spaces. To this end, the first challenge of our project is to gather experiences and perspectives from the visually impaired, in order not to bypass the real needs of those affected, and to gain a deeper understanding of the actual problems. Currently we are working with several self-help organizations and are conducting multiple interviews.
With the support of Prof. Dr. -Ing. Johannes Betz, our ultimate goal is to research how technological advances like artificial intelligence can make the daily challenges of the visually impaired people easier.
